Well said. Important to remember two-thirds of registered voters DIDN'T vote for Trump. Apathy won with 37%.
Trump is a malignant narcissist who believes he us entitled to attack anyobe who disagrees with him. He regards compromise as weakness and an invitation to attack.
There is no cure. He only respects force. Democrats must be forceful, not weak. Compromise is failure.
I heartily concur with your call to resist kissing the ring of the new administration. That's going to be very difficult for most office holders, who largely feel an institutional obligation to cooperate at least nominally with governing administrations, especially ones, like Trump's, that are duly elected. While it's good to call people out on their alleged collaborationist postures or actions -- Mika and Joe come to mind -- I anticipate that we're going to find few purists at the end of the Trump/Vance reign. I would hold back from pointing fingers canonizing "resistance fighters" at this early date. Dems we voted for and heaped praise upon are already surrendering early. You can say that Biden and Harris are both doing so, cooperating with a president elect they both declared would end Amercian democracy. Your accusing Bernie Sanders of collaborationism is outrageously out of line. Bernie was drawing a line in the sand, as many pols do, including Barack Obama, who told the Republicans as soon as they had any GOOD ideas, he'd help implement them. Bernie promising to bring down defense spending in no way constitutes collaborationism. If you continue down this path of pointing fingers, you're going to alienate some Democrats, including some, like Bernie, who were indispensable to successful Dem regimes. Another concern I have is your definition of resistance. Back when progressives (Democrats) across the land were crying out against the mass murder in Gaza, you branded them "antisemites." I don't call that "resistance." I call that complicity. So please be careful with your finger pointing, Tom.
Bernie said what he said - it was wrong (as he often is - not always - just often). He shouldn't be flirting with "DOGE." Also, I very purposely avoid "resistance fighters" language. This ia bout a long opposition.
You have no business criticizing Bernie Sanders, the man responsible for getting Biden elected, of collaborationism for being willing to reduce defense spending. None.

WE ARE STILL IN THIS.
Wipe your tears.
This is the difficult business of hope and defying expectation.
We do not give up.
We run through the tape.
Y’all aren’t allowed to throw in the towel until I do. 😉
Big breath. Locked in. Let’s do this.
Thank you for the musical interlude. Curtis Mayfield brings me back.
The very best! Glad you enjoyed.
